A Lebanon man died Tuesday after falling at a Glastonbury construction site, police and fire officials said.

The 63-year-old was part of a crew on Redwood Lane about 3 p.m. when he fell into what was to be the basement of a house, police Lt. Corey Davis said. The crew was pouring the foundation at the time.

The man, whose name was not released Wednesday, was taken to Hartford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He worked for Roger J. Palmer Foundations in Colchester, Davis said.

He fell about 10 feet from the taller side of the open foundation for a walkout basement, according to Fire Chief Michael Thurz.
