Lamont say no lockdown planned for Connecticut, as coronavirus cases continue to spike; new guidance planned for returning college students

As coronavirus cases, hospitalizations and deaths continue to spike in Connecticut and across the country, Gov. Ned Lamont said on Monday morning that he doesn’t have any immediate plans to lock down the state or reinstate any additional restrictions.

On Connecticut Public Radio’s “Where We Live,” Lamont said he doesn’t plan to lockdown the state like he did during the early spring wave of the virus.

Lamont also said travel guidance for college students returning to the Northeast will be issued in conjunction with regional governors. Lamont said the plan is to require students to test negative for COVID-19 both before boarding flights for their home state and upon arrival in their home state.
