Kent Mawhinney, friend of Fotis Dulos, to testify in Jennifer Farber Dulos case, prosecutors say

Prosecutors revealed in court Tuesday that Kent Mawhinney, the friend and former lawyer for Fotis Dulos, will be called to testify against Dulos’ former girlfriend in the ongoing criminal cases connected to the disappearance of New Canaan mother Jennifer Farber Dulos.

Michelle Troconis has pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to commit murder and evidence tampering charges in connection with the case and her attorney Jon Schoenhorn has challenged whether Mawhinney, who also faces a conspiracy charge, was promised any favorable treatment for cooperating with investigators.

Court records already had indicated Mawhinney spoke at length with investigators before his release on bond last year, but Assistant State’s Attorney Daniel Cummings’ reference to Mawhinney during a virtual hearing Tuesday afternoon was the state’s first explicit confirmation of his eventual testimony in the case.
