Jonny Evans becomes first All-American in UConn men’s hockey’s Division I history

Jonny Evans has made history. On Friday, the junior was named an ACHA All-American, the first player in UConn’s Division I history to earn All-American honors.

Evans led Hockey East with 14 goals and 28 points during the regular season and set the Huskies’ Division I program record with four goals against Merrimack on Jan. 30. He also became UConn’s first All-Hockey East first team selection, won the league’s Three Stars Award and was one of three finalists for Hockey East Player of the Year.

While Evans not only managed to finish the year with high totals, he did so with remarkable consistency, scoring a point in all but five games this season.
