According to UConn, redshirt sophomore Alterique Gilbert didn’t practice on Monday and was taken to get x-rays. He is still being evaluated by the Husky medical staff.
Despite Saturday’s much-needed rout of Wichita State, Husky nation let out a collective gasp and groan when Gilbert went down in a heap with a shoulder injury during the second half. Maybe it was his audibly pained reaction to the screen, maybe it was everyone’s vivid memory of his well-documented shoulder issues. But the health outlook of one of UConn’s floor generals looked grim as he lay there on the floor.
