An infant girl was found alive inside a dumpster outside a New Haven apartment building on Monday afternoon, police said.
The 8-month-old girl was in stable condition Monday evening and her mother was located but an investigation was ongoing, police said.
A maintenance worker found the baby inside a dumpster at about 2 p.m. Monday outside the Presidential Gardens apartments, Capt. Anthony Duff said. Officers called an ambulance to the scene and she was transported to Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital for treatment.
Officers stayed at the scene and located the girl’s mother about 90 minutes later, Duff said.
