Police from the state’s environmental agency are investigating the weekend death of a hiker in a New Milford park.
Local police, firefighters and others were called to Lovers Leap State Park Sunday evening on a report of a missing hiker. The people who had been hiking with him last saw him as he was hiking down from a park overlook, according to Will Healey of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
Police from DEEP and New Milford responded along with rescuers from the Water Witch Fire Company of New Milford and Newtown Underwater Search and Rescue.
