Hartford’s historic Fuller Brush factory has new owners with a vision for connecting downtown revitalization successes with city neighborhoods

HARTFORD — Downtown Hartford’s largest commercial landlord is pushing out of the central business district for the first time, purchasing the former Fuller Brush Co. complex in Hartford’s North End, seeing the need to connect revitalization downtown with the city’s neighborhoods.

Shelbourne Global Solutions LLC, of Brooklyn, N.Y. and owner of four downtown office towers, including a partnership in the marquee One Financial Plaza, the “Gold Building,” closed the Fuller Brush purchase Oct. 16 and announced the acquisition Wednesday. Shelbourne did not disclose a purchase price, but it was $4.3 million, according to city records, slightly above most recent sale in 2014 of $3.
