Hartford schools to continue in-person learning full time; Mayor Bronin says there’s still a “strong likelihood” COVID-19 will cause a future shift

HARTFORD — Hartford schools will continue full-time, in-person learning for at least two more weeks as the recent increase in coronavirus cases leveled off in the past seven days, the city said Monday.

The city will reevaluate the number of new COVID-19 cases and other factors early next week to determine whether Hartford Public Schools can remain in its current model or needs to shift to hybrid learning, in which students are split into groups that attend school on alternating days. Such a change would impact about 7,400 students who have opted to attend Hartford schools in person.
