Hartford police union offers $1,000 reward for information about who injured 3 officers with fireworks on Fourth of July

The Hartford police union announced Tuesday night it will offer a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the conviction of the people who threw large-scale fireworks at several police officers the night of July 4.

Three officers were injured in the altercation, captured on video shared widely on local Facebook pages, and police announced over the weekend they are seeking several felony assault charges against the individuals involved.

The officers were called to a large gathering at Garden and Capen streets on Saturday night, where more than 100 people were watching or participating in an ad-hoc fireworks show, police said.
