Hartford police searching for occupants of crashed stolen car; 25 cars stolen in Connecticut in 24 hours, police say

Hartford police are searching for three people who crashed a stolen Dodge Durango and fled from the scene Monday afternoon in the capital city.

The Durango, taken from East Hampton, follows a string of 25 cars stolen across Connecticut in the 24 hours from mid Sunday to mid Monday — mostly from the suburbs and most stolen with their keys or key fobs inside the vehicle, police said.

The Durango crashed just before 6 p.m. Monday into two cars parked outside the Family Dollar at the corner of Farmington Avenue and Sigourney Street, Lt. Paul Cicero said.
