A Hartford man was taken into custody Thursday in connection to a car accident that took the life of a 67-year-old man on Christmas Day last year.

Joshua Jenkins, 27, was charged with five offenses, including second degree manslaughter, first degree reckless endangerment and operating under the influence of alcohol, police said.

Jenkins, driving a 2020 black Chevrolet Malibu, collided into a Nissan Sentra at an intersection. The driver of the Nissan, James Hippolytes, was taken to St. Francis Hospital and later was pronounced dead, police said.
