Hartford drug deal turned fatal shootout caught on private security camera, court records show

An apparent drug sale that turned into a fatal shootout last week in Hartford’s Upper Albany neighborhood was captured in its entirety on a nearby private surveillance camera, new court records show.

Trelique Ward, a 22-year-old East Hartford man, was shot in the abdomen during the confrontation June 9 and succumbed to his injuries early the next morning at Saint Francis Hospital.

Aubrey Perry, 35, also was wounded in the exchange of gunfire and drove himself to Saint Francis Hospital, police have said. He survived his injuries, however, he was taken into police custody and charged with Ward’s murder and criminal possession of a firearm.
