An Old Lyme man who police said thought he was going to meet a 15-year-old girl for sex in Guilford ended up being greeted by officers.
Julian Muller, 56, was arrested on charges including criminal attempt to commit three crimes: second-degree sexual assault; enticing a minor via computer and risk of injury/impairing the morals of a minor, police said. He posted $20,000 bail.
According to police, Muller contacted a Guilford officer who was posing as a teenager in March. The two continued to communicate over several social media platforms for months and arranged to meet on August 28 for what police called “a sexual encounter.
