The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection’s Twitter account was busy Sunday as multiple state parks were closed to visitors due to full parking lots.
The Twitter account, @ctstateparks, announced the closures of 10 parks before 2 p.m. on a sun-filled day that meteorologists said could challenge high temperature records in the state.
The list includes: Haddam Meadows in Haddam; Silver Sands in Milford; Mount Tom in Litchfield; Gardner Lake in Salem; Wadsworth Falls in Middletown;; the Pattaconk Recreation Area in the Conkeponset State Forest; Hammonasset and Rocky Neck state beaches; Miller’s Pond in Haddam and Bigelow Hollow in Union.
