Frenzied pace of Greater Hartford home sales in November show no sign of a slowdown as year’s end approaches

Home sales in Greater Hartford kept up a frantic pace in November and overall prices paid registered double-digit gains, with little sign of a slowdown in sight, a new report Wednesday showed.

Sales of single-family houses soared 44% in November compared with the same month a year ago, according to the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors, which tracks home sale trends in 27 towns stretching from Suffield to Rocky Hill and Canton to Willington.

The median sale price — where half the sales are above, half below — jumped 12% to $275,000 from $245,000 a year earlier.
