Edwin Gomes, 84, was driving a Ford Fusion during the collision with an Acura RSX, they said. The Acura’s driver, Clive Henry, 19, has injuries that police said are not life-threatening. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
According to police, the crash happened about 6:50 p.m. at the intersection of Boston and Noble avenues. Henry, in the Acura, was headed west on Boston Avenue and Gomes, in the Fusion, was headed east.
Gomes tried to turn left into the parking lot of Kentucky Fried Chicken at 325 Boston Avenue, and the Fusion and oncoming Acura collided, police said.
