For the past two seasons, former UConn Huskies pitcher and Berlin, Connecticut native Anthony Marzi has pitched close to home for the independent New Britain Bees of the Atlantic League. But now, Marzi will get another chance to impress a Major League Baseball organization.
Due to injuries with their Single-A club in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the Minnesota Twins have purchased the contract of Marzi from the Bees. It’s expected that Marzi will step into the Cedar Rapids Kernels rotation.
Marzi was undrafted out of UConn after the 2014 season but signed with the New York Yankees in the winter of 2015.
