First snow of season in Connecticut forecast for Friday morning

Parts of Connecticut are expected to see snow for the first time this season Friday, but there won’t be much to shovel.

“It’s certainly not a certainty at this point” in Hartford, Bryce Williams, a meteorologist at the National Weather Center, said early Wednesday. “Right now, we’re not looking at anything appreciable in the Hartford area.”

Any snow would fall Friday morning, starting before sunrise and ending “early afternoonish,” he said. As the cold air comes in, Hartford “could see some flakes.”

Wednesday and Thursday both will be wet, with rain expected before noon on Wednesday and after noon on Thursday.
