The UConn Huskies played very poorly in the first half and parts of the second before a late run led by Jalen Adams got them over Stony Brook, 72-64.
Adams finished with 19 points, all in the second half, and was scoring at will late in the game, mostly by driving to the bucket. UConn (2-0) was plagued by poor shooting defense and free throw shooting and turnovers as they stayed behind for most of the game.
Early on, Terry Larrier picked up two quick fouls, which seemed to throw UConn off its rhythm.
