Two East Hartford men are facing federal sex trafficking charges after FBI investigators concluded they recruited and enticed a minor into engaging in commercial sex acts last fall.
Joel Lindsay, 22, and Joseph Pina, 23, both engaged in a conspiracy to sell sex with the young victim in October 2019, according to a grand jury indictment returned Wednesday.
Lindsay, a Jamaican citizen also known as “Joey Guapo,” also was charged with an additional sex trafficking of a minor offense, the indictment shows.
Federal prosecutors released few other details about the investigation Thursday and have not released information about the age or gender of the victim.
