“It was a moped versus a pickup truck,” Meier said. “The driver of the moped was transferred to Rockville Hospital and pronounced dead.”
The male victim’s identity has not yet been released as police are awaiting to notify the next of kin.
The accident has closed down parts of Route 30 between Dobson Rd. and Merline Rd., as of 8 a.m., Meier said.
The investigation remains ongoing as to what caused the crash, but the regional and Vernon Traffic Reconstruction Team have been on scene.
