Police said they were called to the home’s second-floor bedroom in the Hill neighborhood about 10:40 p.m. Aug. 6. Medics treated the boy and rushed him to Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
“We mourn the tragic loss of such a young member of our community,” New Haven Police Chief Otoniel Reyes said at the time. “We ask the community to join us in keeping the family in our thoughts and prayers during this time of unimaginable loss, pain, and grief.”
