Police have charged an East Hartford woman with hindering prosecution and lying to police in connection with their investigation into the killing 22 years ago of Agnieszka Ziemlewski at the MDC Reservoir just off Farmington Avenue near the West Hartford town line.
Katherine Pires, 50, of Depauw Circle in East Hartford was taken into custody on Sunday and was held in lieu of $250,000 for arraignment Monday in Superior Court in Hartford.
Police did not released little information about the about the allegations against Pires, but an official familiar with the investigation said Pires has been interviewed multiple times over the years and that her statements to police have not been consistent.
