Police are trying to learn more about how a man who had been reported missing on Monday turned up badly beaten Tuesday morning.
Found at about 9 a.m., the 62-year-old man was taken to Hartford Hospital with serious head injuries and broken bones, Det. Sgt. Matt Carl said.
The man’s longtime girlfriend came to police Monday night, saying he had been missing since Sunday evening. Police found his work van on Winkler Road, where evidence showed foul play, Carl said. Cops then checked the man’s home on Depot Street and found more evidence that someone had been seriously assaulted, Carl said.
