The chairman of the East Hartford Democratic Town Committee has resigned after he was featured in a Youtube video shot by a vigilante group that seeks to expose sexual predators, according to several state legislators who represent the town.
Craig Stevenson, a longtime public official and party leader in town, is also the subject of a police investigation, according to a statement by the lawmakers released Monday. Stevenson could not be reached immediately.
Police department spokesman Lt. Josh Litwin confirmed an investigation was started after police saw the Youtube video, but said he could not comment further.
