A Derby man was killed when the car he was driving veered off Route 8 in Beacon Falls Monday afternoon before ending up on nearby train tracks, state police said.
State police said the Honda Accord Vazquez was driving went off the highway, through a guard rail, down an embankment and across Cold Spring Road before it flipped onto the train tracks.
Trains were halted on the railway until police had cleared the area and officials determined there was no damage to the tracks.
