On Sunday, UConn women’s basketball dominated No. 10 Stanford in a neutral site game in Columbus, Ohio. On Monday, the American Athletic Conference released its first weekly awards of the season.
Sophomore guard Crystal Dangerfield was named the American Player of the Week after logging 34 minutes for UConn, leading the team in shooting percentage (9-for-16, 56.3 percent), steals (four) and scoring (24 points). She added six rebounds, good for third on the team, and three assists.
The Huskies will be playing Gampel Pavilion for the first time this season when they welcome Cal to Storrs on Friday.
