A correction officer was arrested Thursday after he illegally collected workers’ compensation, a Chief State’s Attorney spokeswoman said.

Inspectors arrested Hoai Le, 49, of West Hartford on a warrant charging him with fraudulent claim or receipt of benefits, first-degree larceny by defrauding a public community and perjury, Alaine Griffin said.

According to the arrest warrant affidavit, Le was managing his Vietnamese restaurant in Longmeadow, Mass. from October 2018 to June 2019 while he was out of work on disability, collecting nearly $48,000 in benefits. He failed to report the additional income and improvements in his condition as required.
