Connecticut UPS driver’s death sending shock through delivery drivers during holiday rush

In the frenzied push before the Christmas holiday, Nathan D. Burk was in his UPS delivery truck on Route 8 in Watertown late Tuesday, when police say his co-worker, Elijah Bertrand, attacked and killed the Waterbury man.

What motivated the killing was not disclosed by authorities, who searched for nearly 15 hours for 19-year-old Bertrand after Burk was found with grave injuries after what was first reported as a motor vehicle crash involving a UPS truck.

Burk, 28, was rushed to a local hospital, but died some time later, state police said. Bertrand, was found about 2 p.
