Connecticut forecast: Expect rain, possibly strong winds, overnight

Some drought-quenching rain is expected Tuesday night, and some parts of the state will experience heavy winds, too.

The heaviest rain will fall overnight, between 11 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. Wednesday, the National Weather Service said.

At the same time, there will be heavy winds in the eastern part of the state. A wind advisory will be in effect in Tolland and Windham counties from 11 p.m. Tuesday to 8 p.m. Wednesday and in Middlesex and New London counties from midnight to 6 a.
