Connecticut forecast: Expect a windy, rainy Cyber Monday, power loss possible

The rain will be heavy at times and may come with thunder, said Gary Lessor of the Connecticut Weather Center at Western Connecticut State University. The amount of rain generally will range from a half-inch to an inch and a half, although more than 2 inches may fall in spots.

It’s the wind that will cause the most problems. Wind gusts may reach 55 mph at higher elevations and at the shore, Lessor said. Gusts in most places will peak at 45 mph, with sustained winds ranging from 15-25 mph.

Temperatures will be unseasonably warm, in the upper 50s and lower 60s, Lessor said.
