Connecticut begins issuing fines for travel advisory violations, part of broader crackdown on coronavirus violations

Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont said on Monday that, as part of a wider crackdown on unsafe behavior, the state has issued fines against two people who violated the state’s travel advisory rules.

Lamont said that the two people did not fill out the required travel health form after traveling to Connecticut from a coronavirus hotspot, and one of the people then also refused to self-quarantine.

“I hate to do it, but we’re going to show people we’re serious about this,” Lamont said at an afternoon press conference.

Lamont said Monday that the state is now beginning to crack down on a number of public health violations.
