Cheap gas, stepped-up police patrols and gorgeous weather on tap for Labor Day weekend in Connecticut

The Labor Day weekend promises a pleasant closing to Connecticut’s long, hot summer, with low humidity, sunny skies and temperatures hovering around 80 degrees.

All state parks except Kent Falls will be open, with reduced capacity because of the coronavirus pandemic. People are expected to flock to the parks given the weather forecast, state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection spokesman Will Healey said.

Plan ahead and check @CTStateParks on Twitter, and portal.ct.gov/whatsopenoutdoors for real-time closure information. Also, people are reminded to get to parks early and continue to practice safe social distancing and wear masks, Healey said.
