There’s a chance of severe thunderstorms -- and even a possibility of a tornado -- in some parts of the state Friday afternoon and evening.
The northern part of the state could see damaging winds, large hail and “perhaps a tornado,” said Gary Lessor, chief meteorologist at the Western Connecticut State University Weather Center. The bad weather will roll in after 4 p.m.
While everybody in the state could see showers and thunderstorms, not everyone runs the risk of severe weather, Lessor said. As far as extreme weather is concerned, he said, areas in southern Connecticut “look to be OK.
