Car crashes through South Windsor 7-Eleven, driver loses license, police say

A South Windsor driver had her license taken away after she crashed through the front door of the local 7-Eleven this week.

No one was injured in the crash, which happened about 2:50 p.m. Wednesday at the store at 700 Ellington Road. The 74-year-old had trouble finding the brake, Sgt. Mark Cleverdon said.

The woman was not charged because the crash happened on private property, he said. Her license was taken under a state law that allows police to confiscate the licenses of drivers who are deemed unfit to drive.
