Bryant Shirreffs Named UConn Starting Quarterback, Again

After a four-game respite, Bryant Shirreffs will take the reins again as the starting quarterback of the UConn Huskies football team.

“I made a decision, that I think, is best for the team,” Randy Edsall said at his weekly press conference on Tuesday.

He did not start the last three games of the 2016 season due to injuries sustained during the year, including a displaced rib. Shirreffs was not under center to begin the Huskies’ 27-20 win over Holy Cross because David Pindell won the starting job during summer camp.

Pindell’s numbers were not bad.
