Bridgeport, Yale New Haven Health halt use of J&J COVID-19 vaccine after federal recommendation. No guidance from Gov. Lamont yet for state.

Gov. Ned Lamont’s office has not yet provided guidance for Connecticut in response to a recommendation early Tuesday that states take a “pause” in administration of the single-dose Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine to investigate reports of potentially dangerous blood clots.

In Bridgeport, Mayor Joe Ganim announced that the city health department will discontinue administering the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine following the federal report.

“Safety and confidence in the vaccine is paramount. Unless, or until we are 100% confident in the J & J vaccine, we will pause its use,” Ganim said in a statment.
