Another Husky has taken a step forward to the next level. Former UConn captain and star guard Christian Vital signed a deal with the Memphis Grizzlies Wednesday, according to a team release.
The details of his contract are unknown at this time, but he joins the Grizzlies after a short stint with German team BG Göttingen. Vital had gone undrafted in the NBA Draft last month.
He joins Kemba Walker, Andre Drummond, Jeremy Lamb, and Amida Brimah as UConn alumni attached to NBA teams. Former Husky Shabazz Napier has yet to sign with a team this offseason and is currently a free agent.
