Boston man dies, up to four injured, in three-car crash on I-95 in Stonington

Up to four people, including three children, were injured in the crash, which happened about 3:30 p.m. near the Exit 91 off-ramp.

According to the state police, Leander Nathan Ortega, 29, of Boston was driving a 2003 Volkswagen GTI north in the right lane, trying to pass two vehicles to his left, a 2009 Volkswagen CC and a 2020 Toyota RAV4. He struck the side of the RAV4 and the back of the 2011 Toyota Tacoma pickup in front of it, hitting the RAV4 in a “sideswipe manner and the rear end of (the Tacoma) at the same time.
