Bolton man arrested after mailing court-ordered ankle monitor to detectives; previously refused to surrender weapons after separate arrests

The Bolton man who refused to turn over dozens of firearms earlier this year after a domestic violence arrest was arrested again Thursday when a flurry of officers surrounded his car on Tolland Turnpike.

Michael Gramegna, 43, had been free on bond in a series of active cases against him and was ordered by the court to wear an ankle monitoring device.

But the state police Eastern District Major Crime Squad learned Gramegna had disregarded that order when the ankle monitor arrived at their office in the mail on Monday, according to state police.

The court promptly issued 11 arrest warrants for Gramegna for violating the conditions of his release and state police, FBI, Manchester police and Vernon police worked to locate him throughout the week, state police.
