Newly released body camera footage shows the moment a police sergeant was knocked to the ground and opened fire on a man fleeing a traffic stop Monday night on an on-ramp to Route 8 in Naugatuck.
That man, 24-year-old Roznovsky Machado of Waterbury, remained at large late Thursday. Police do not know whether he was injured in the shooting but they have obtained an arrest warrant charging him with assaulting a police officer in connection with Monday’s confrontation.
