Berlin police charge man, 35, with car break-ins

Police in Berlin arrested a man early Wednesday after a witness reported seeing him smash the window of a parked car on Worthington Ridge and rummage through it.

Based on information from the witness, police put out a description of the car McLain was driving. New Britain police saw it and McLain was taken into custody. He was also served with a warrant for another matter.

McLain, 35, is charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of criminal mischief, two counts of sixth-degree larceny and one count of failing to appear in court.
