HARTFORD — As a Superior Court judge in Hartford saw Monday to keeping Jaqhawn Walters’s accused killer in prison on a high bail, a Main Street memorial remained a mournful gathering for friends who question why a basketball standout from their neighborhood was taken so early.
Walters, who distinguished himself through basketball prowess that brought success in college and in a pro league in Argentina, was a thoughtful friend to many and a source of admiration for local kids, those close to the 24-year-old said.
Jason Stone, a 33-year-old East Hartford man, was charged with Saturday’s killing.
