Two Norwalk police officers were drinking on duty, downing several beers in the police station parking lot and another location before supervisors found them together in a local hotel, arrest warrants released Wednesday say.

Police on Tuesday arrested Officers Michael Dimeglio and Sara Laudano after an investigation that started early on Oct. 10 when Laudano could not be raised on the radio.

Laudano, 31, was charged with second-degree larceny, second-degree reckless endangerment and risk of injury to a child. Dimeglio, 38, was charged with second-degree larceny and second-degree reckless endangerment.

The risk of injury charge involves Laudano drinking and driving while her baby was in her patrol vehicle, the warrant for her arrest says.
