After Two Years In Waterbury, Pro-Am Returning To Hartford

The Greater Hartford Pro-Am will return to Hartford this summer.

Peter Higgins, founder and CEO of the annual summer basketball league, said games will be at Sport & Medical Sciences Academy on Huyshope Avenue, where the event was held in 2009-11. After one year at the Classical Magnet School on Woodland Street, the Pro-Am was held the last two years at Crosby High in Waterbury.

Gym renovations will make Crosby unavailable this summer, so the Pro-Am will return to the site of some of its top moments. At SMSA, crowds routinely swelled beyond capacity, especially in 2011 when UConn was coming off a national championship and many members of that team, including Kemba Walker, consistently played.
