A week after vandalism at Hartford impound lot, police won’t say whether vehicles were stolen

HARTFORD — Hartford police are refusing to say whether anything is missing from the impound lot where the department holds seized and stolen vehicles, though a week has passed since a lieutenant confirmed there was a potential burglary there.

Late Thursday, Lt. Paul Cicero said the investigation into the matter is still active and ongoing, and that the supervisor of seized and stolen property and evidence has yet to provide his findings on an audit of the impound lot.

It was seven days ago that Cicero confirmed there appeared to be damage to a lock at the facility and that a property room supervisor was taking inventory to determine whether anything had been taken.
