WEST HARTFORD — As the West Hartford Police celebrate their 100th anniversary, the McCue family will share plenty of the honors: Three generations of McCues put in more than a century of police service in town.

“The McCues had more time on the department than the department had time,” joked Robert R. McCue, 89, who retired as chief nearly 30 years ago.

McCue, his father, his brother and his son all carried the badge of West Hartford police, an agency where family names like St. Jacques, Nagle, Moylan and a few others are also part of the heritage.
