A car hit a moose in Goshen, killing the animal and injuring three

Three people, including a 5-year-old, were taken to the hospital over the weekend after the car they were in struck a moose in Goshen, state police said.

According to the state police, the crash happened about 9:40 p.m. Saturday on Route 272. A 2011 Subaru Legacy driven by Allyson Burton, 38, of Torrington was headed north when the moose suddenly appeared in the road. Burton couldn’t avoid hitting the animal.
