LOS ANGELES – As of early Monday afternoon, UCLA linebacker Jayon Brown hadn’t exchanged any verbal jabs with friends from the school on the other side of town. Well, not yet.
Such is the nature of rivalry week for UCLA, where lifelong friends become temporary enemies for ultimate bragging rights. Neither team needs any more bulletin board material. With rosters filled with childhood friends, there’s already a lifetime of intel filling this Saturday’s matchup against USC at 7:30 p.m. at the Rose Bowl.
“The glory would be great after a USC victory,” Brown said.
